Synchron · Senior Data Engineer
Data infrastructure for research and clinical trials
As Synchron’s research needs scaled into production and international clinical trials, I built a data platform to support that next stage: making hundreds of hours of dense neural recordings and device telemetry accessible, searchable, and useful.
Research workflows
Researchers could move beyond manually processing individual experiment files to asking questions across time and patients. I built tools to identify and retrieve relevant activity, automate analysis, and orchestrate model training—supporting research into movement encoding and real-time neural decoding.
Platform ownership
I owned the platform from architecture through production, continually extending it as new questions emerged. It became a shared source of truth for scientists, clinicians, and engineers working to understand and improve the technology. Finding a promising neural pattern, assessing performance over months, or investigating device behavior could all begin with the same reliable data.
